Visive was approached by Albion Electric, a Leeds based electrical wholesaler, to develop a value added solution for the corridor lighting at St James’s Hospital.

The brief was to minimise the need for maintenance and reduce power consumption by implementing LED lighting and movement sensors.

The current fluorescent lighting had reached the end of its natural life and had been in situ for over 20 years. As the casings were no longer available, Visive and Albion Electric worked in collaboration with the maintenance team at St James’s Hospital to design a custom solution that could be easily installed, provide the reliability demanded in a 24-hour operation and minimise the power consumption and carbon footprint.

The project was extremely successful and the team managed to reduce the power consumption by well over 50%, creating a long-term maintenance free solution, as well as dramatically increasing the brightness level in the corridors.

Due to its success, this solution is now being rolled out in other areas of the hospital and Visive and Albion Electric will continue to supply St. James Hospital with power saving, LED lighting solutions.
